One of Canada's major public institutions offering degrees, Douglas College was established in 1970 and is situated in British Columbia. Programs in healthcare, business, the arts, and human services are available through Douglas College, along with university-level courses in science and the arts. In addition to its two main campuses in New Westminster and Coquitlam's David Liam Campus suburban campus, the institute also operates a number of smaller training facilities in Surrey, Burnaby, and Maple Ridge. The college offers its students accommodation alternatives both on and off campus. They feature a sizable library with books, DVDs, articles, and tools to assist students in their studies. The college's research and creative resources are also housed in the Douglas Open Repository, or DOOR.

Along with many other recreational facilities, the site also contains a gym, a small box theater, and a big 300-seat proscenium theater. Over 24,000 people are enrolled at Douglas College, including 17,000 credit-seeking students, 8,500 continuing education enrollees, and about 4210 international students from 92 different nations. The academic faculty has about 960 people on it. Up to 10 bachelor's degree programs in Applied Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, Physical Education and Coaching, Business Administration, Nursing, Therapeutic, Child and Youth Care, Recreation and the Performing Arts, Criminology, and Social Work are available at the college.

The Douglas College has catered alumni that have excelled in their career paths. Some of the notable alumni of the Douglas college include poet Elizabeth Bachinsky, author Carleigh Baker for short story collection Bad Endings, businessman Frank Guistra, Gold medalist wrestler in Olympic, Daniel Igali, actor Adrian Holmes, and author Sky Lee.

With a Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA), you can prepare to work as a professional performer, arts management, administrator, or cultural entrepreneur. The BPA is a cross-disciplinary degree that places a strong emphasis on teamwork and self-generation, two factors that are essential for the future success of young artists.

The BPA degree fills a void in performing arts education on how you will use your education after graduating. There are various ways to do this, and the most call for the capacity for opportunity creation, frequently in cooperation with peers. With the BPA program, you'll have the rare chance to build the entrepreneurial skills required to start a self-directed performing arts career while also producing innovative, cross-disciplinary shows. This program is provided in collaboration with Douglas College and Capilano University in a first-of-its-kind arrangement in Canada.
