The advanced diploma program in civil engineering technology at Humber gives you the knowledge and abilities required for a job in the expanding civil infrastructure industry. All of the fundamental components required for society to function are included in infrastructure, including buildings, roads, public transportation, municipal services (water, sewage, and green areas).
The curriculum, which was developed in partnership with industry, integrates classroom instruction with practical laboratory work and covers every facet of infrastructure, from the conception of an idea through the completion of building. You will get knowledge about how to design timber, reinforced concrete, and structural steel buildings. Water supply management and municipal services (water, wastewater) will be examined.
Using design norms and standards, transportation infrastructure and highway design will be examined. You will also get all the knowledge and abilities required to support design and construction, such as surveying, geomatics, Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), drafting (using AutoCAD and BIM), testing of soils and materials, project management, and environmental preservation and remediation. Many of the industry specialists who instruct our courses are employed by engineering and construction companies in the Greater Toronto Area. Graduates may benefit from Humber's solid reputation in the field of civil engineering when looking for work.
