In Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Humber College, also known as the Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, is a public college for applied arts and technology. The Mechanical Engineering Technician diploma program provides a strong technical foundation upon which our curriculum is built. The third year of the technician program focuses on detailed design and advanced manufacturing technologies, enhancing the manufacturing and fundamental design abilities learned in the previous two years of the curriculum. The program provides graduates with the opportunity to put their abilities to use in the workplace and includes a co-op option to integrate work with learning. A capstone project that takes place in the third year involves students collaborating with industry partners to create a functional prototype and a complete design and production package for industry.
