The University of Southern Queensland, also known as UniSQ and formerly known as USQ, is a medium-sized regional university with three campuses located in Toowoomba, Springfield, and Ipswich in Queensland, Australia. There is a growing demand for cyber security professionals, and this ICT field has more specialities than ever before. With a strong understanding of cyber security concepts and policies, graduates from UniSQ are prepared for the job. Learn how to build, install, manage, diagnose, and maintain networks and associated operating systems, including Linux and Windows, by majoring in networking and cyber security at UniSQ. Learn how to solve issues with computer networks, VoIP, video conferencing, and network services. Explore interface networks with wide area networks (WANs).  During a capstone course in your final year, apply your learning through an industry-based project or job experience. This major can be combined with a second IT major or a variety of 4-unit minors or electives. To fit your particular professional path, you can also select a major from a variety of study areas at UniSQ, including Science, Law, Business, or the Arts.



  • You may be able to obtain employment as a network engineer or network security engineer, network analyst, cyber security engineer, data security officer, business information security analyst, IT system security analyst, IoT security expert, network administrator, etc. after graduation.
  • Graduates are knowledgeable in domains connected to cyber security, such as healthcare, national and corporate information system security, wireless networking security, Internet of Things security, and networking security.
